Advanced Cardiac Life Support

(ACLS)

ACLS is a 16-hour course designed for healthcare team members who either directly or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. A suitable candidate is anyone who needs an ACLS course completion card for job or other requirements.

Prerequisites include: a current Heart and Stroke Foundation BLS course completion card, complete the mandatory Pre-course Self-Assessment found on the resuscitation page of the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada webpage.

2-year certification card in ACLS is provided to the candidate after successful completion; Renewal is within the 2-year window.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support Experienced Provider

(ACLS EP)

This ACLS course is designated as an advanced ACLS course for experienced providers. The course is delivered over 7 hours and is largely based on cased based scenarios and emphasizes a systematic approach to patient care, critical thinking skills and critical decision-making skills and the questions. The goal of ACLS EP is to encourage learners to enhance their skills in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary prearrest, arrest, and post arrest patients.

Prerequisites include: a current Heart & Stroke BLS course completion card ( taken within 12 months and current to the most recent Guidelines)

• A current Heart & Stroke ACLS course completion card (taken within the last 24 months and current to the most recent Guidelines)

All Heart and Stroke Foundation ACLS EP course completion cards have an expiration date of two (2) years from the date of completion; Renewal is within the 2-year certification window.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support

(PALS)

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course is 16-hour course designed for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the management of respiratory and/or cardiovascular emergencies and cardiopulmonary arrest in pediatric patients, as well as others who need a PALS course completion card for job or other requirements.

Prerequisites include: a current Heart and Stroke Foundation BLS course completion card, complete the mandatory Pre-course Self-Assessment.

All Heart and Stroke Foundation PALS course completions cards have an expiration date of two (2) years from the date of completion. Renewal window is within the 2 years of the original course.

Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS)


The PEARS Provider Course prepares healthcare providers caring for pediatric patients with foundational skills to assess, recognize, and participate in the initial management of respiratory and/or cardiovascular emergencies and cardiopulmonary arrest. This course is an 8-hour course intended for anyone who may infrequently tend to critically ill children.

Prerequisites include: a current (taken within the last 12 months and current to the most recent Guidelines) Heart & Stroke BLS course completion card.

All Heart and Stroke Foundation PEARS cards have an expiration date 2 years from the date of completion.

NO RENEWAL is offered for this course as the intended audience is those who infrequently see children. This course must be completed every two years.

International Trauma Life Support

(ITLS)

Some of the skills covered include: all of the skills in ITLS basic, plus advanced airway, chest decompression, vascular access, and fluid resuscitation.

This course is more complex and requires a fair amount of knowledge regarding BLS prior to taking this course.

ITLS Provider cards are issued for a 3-year certification period.

To recertify, providers must successfully complete a 1-day Recertification course or the full 2-day Provider course.

Basic ECG Interpretation Course

Our basic ECG course runs between 4-6 hours and is based on how to properly interpret a 3-lead rhythm strip. This course will cover electrical cycle of the heart, and all the Sinus Rhythms, blocks, lethal Rhythms, and various Tachycardias. It is a great beginner course or a refresher course, everyone can learn something!


Advanced ECG Interpretation Course

Our advanced course builds on the basic course and includes 12 lead ECG interpretation and certain ECG changes that can commonly be found depending on the pathophysiology affecting the heart and or toxicology affecting the heart. Their are also case based scenarios discussed to present some of the changes seen on ECG. A great start to understanding 12 lead ECG's and what we can determine from them.



Airway Management Course

Whether you are an advanced clinician or a beginner this course has something for everyone. Learn to assess the airway (neonate to adult), manage, trouble shoot, maintain and protect. 


Learn about the pharmacology associated with the airway and its uses. 


Like all of our courses this is mostly hands on.
